About Own Your Results
Appendix cancer and PMP are rare. That means very little research money goes to them.
Own Your Results lets patients, families and researchers propose focused research projects. A registered charity sponsors each one: it reviews the project, holds the donations, and pays the researchers.
We never handle money. When you give, you give straight to the charity, on its own donation page.
When there is news, you hear it first.
How we keep it honest
- Every project is reviewed by its sponsoring charity, against that charity's own rules.
- Every project asks about conflicts of interest. Anything flagged gets a closer look.
- No researcher or institution is shown as involved until they confirm it themselves, or are verified.
- The charity pays researchers one milestone at a time.
- Donors receive updates and results. Donors do not receive any financial return.
Who runs it
Own Your Results is owned and run by Amanda Moore and Ricki Dhal. It is independent: no charity, including any sponsor on the site, owns it.
